Sailing Instructor Job Description Location: Rumson, NJ, 07760 Job Summary Rumson Country Club is seeking Sailing Instructors to teach sailing to children in a youth sailing program for the summer.
The program consists of a morning and an afternoon session where sailors sign up on a weekly basis.
Sailors in the program will be mostly in Optis with some c420s.
Responsibilities Safely operate a coach motorboat Ensure safety of sailors Explain and demonstrate proper sailing techniques Give chalk talks on pre-arranged topics Assist beginner sailors with rigging Attend regattas during the season Plan and execute daily sailing lessons Maintain and organize sailing equipment Communicate with parents and program coordinators as needed Requirements USSailing Level 1 Instructor Certification NJ Boating Safety Certificate First Aid/ CPR Certification Extensive Opti and c420 knowledge Must be comfortable rigging and sailing Flying Scots Must be comfortable in their own coach motorboat Experience teaching sailing to children Strong sailing skills and knowledge of sailing terminology Ability to work well with children and provide a positive learning environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team If you are passionate about sailing and enjoy working with children, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
